Waren & Meg (Konsepto) | Fernbrook

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

December 1, 2007. Start of the wedding month in the Philippines.

Konsepto is fortunate to have the first onsite photo souvenir in Fernbrook Gardens.

Its not finished yet, but I can see how grand the place will be when its done.

It’s almost 20minutes away from Bellevue, the usual place where we do our onsites.

Here are some of the photos of Waren & Meg’s wedding.

Official Photographers are Joel Castillo & Henry. Video by MG Digital.

Congratulations to Waren & Meg.

Andrea & Allan

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Some couple needs to warm up their smile before we get those wonderful photos.

That’s true for Andrea and Allan.

It took us a while before the camera capture their loving and wonderful sides.

Here are the images from this afternoon engagement shoot. :)

In life and in love, you can never tell what God will give you.

Richie and Ivy never met for years, even if they went to the same High School, the same Canteen, and the same Church.

But as the saying goes, ‘There’s always someone for everyone.’

And so they met after college. But 3 months after they met, Richie had to leave for the US for more than a year.

Still they communicated through email and maintained their connection.

When Richie came back, Ivy had to leave for Japan for more than a year also.

But as fate would put it, their love prevailed. That’s what lovers call Serendipity.

Toddler

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

I like taking photos of kids.

Every once in a while, I see the angelic side of the child and it really pays to be patient.

baby-sm-north.jpg

Here, the baby girl is looking back at me while mom is looking towards the SM North Entertainment stage. Though the shot is grainy because of the high ISO, I still like the way she smiled at me, as if saying ‘Someday I’m going to be a model.’

Let me know what you see and what you think she’s thinking…

Be blessed,

Marvin

WPPP - so busy.

Friday, October 26th, 2007

I missed most of the fun in WPPP. I had several whole day trainings that I missed most of the seminars in Megamall.

What I managed to listen to was Jason Magbanua’s Time Shifting and How to Make Videos Look Like Film seminars.

I can tell from his talk that he’s really passionate about his craft. He talks so fast, much like how fast he edits his onsite videos.

His sample videos are really great. It takes so much confidence and character to share his style in videography.  Truly a Master like him will never run out of new ways to make onsite videos.

It’s nice that Filipinos like Jason is bringing pride and respect to our country, by being the top 25 most influential videographer in the planet.

Big cheers to Jason.

Next year I will open my calendar for the WPPP event and hope to learn more from fellow photographers.

Be blessed,

Marvin

Presence

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I chanced upon this photo that I took also last February.

I still remember this because it was in Subic where we woke up very early to see the Hot Air Balloon for the first time.

When we got there the sun is just rising behind us. I noticed a local plant glowing in the sun. I thought this would be nice for my stock photo collection. I lie on my belly to get a nice composition. Its pretty hard to focus on the subject because of the intense light and reflection of the sun, but I got a nice shot after some manual adjustments.

As I look at it again, I remember a story from my One Minute Wisdom book by Anthony De Mello.  It’s one of my favorites:

PRESENCE

” Where shall I look for Enlightenment?”

“Here.”

“When will it happen?”

“It is happening right now.”

“Then why don’t I experience it?”

“Because you do not look.”

“What should I look for?”

“Nothing. Just look.”

“At what?”

“Anything your eyes alight upon.”

“Must I look in a special kind of way?”

“No. The ordinary way will do.”

“But don’t I always look the ordinary way?”

“No.”

“Why ever not?”

“Because to look you must be here. You’re mostly somewhere else.”

Butterfly

Friday, September 14th, 2007

One of the downsides of new technology in photography is we get more photos/images in less time.  In just less than a year I managed to fill up my 200GB hard disk. Mostly photos. Now its time to ’spring clean’ my hard drive. While deciding which photos to archive or to delete, I found these images of a huge butterfly. I took these shots last February in Pulilan Bulacan, known for its butterfly farm.

Looking at the images now, I wonder what it looked like before it became a beautiful butterfly. What kind of caterpillar was it? Did it know that someday, it will be a butterfly? I found my answer.

“There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly”.
